Badlands winch owners.

How do you keep the rubber cover in place?

Mine comes loose every time I drive.

I haven't had any problems. Maybe try a piece of Velcro?

I don't quite understand this question. I have a HF Apex 12000 also and nothing on my cover looks loose or like it will fall off.

The rubber cover on the right side that seals the power switch and remote connector can come loose while driving on our winches. Maybe yours has a better fit but ours will come loose.

The rubber cover over the switch and plugin for the remote always comes loose. It won’t fall off but won’t stay seated.

OK, perhaps a slight manufacturing tolerance thing.

I haven't had a problem with this, but I second a couple small pieces of Velcro on each side.
I can't put a cover over mine because it sits inside the metal bumper and is a tight fit.

Mine fits so snug it's hard to open to use the switch. I use it wireless every time so don't need to access the plug so i guess I could just leave the wireless switch to on and forget pulling that cover.
One thing you have to do is make sure that rubber "slide" is clean and pushed in and it helps hold that cover in place. IF you don't make sure the top slide piece is clean and all the way in, it will tend to push that cover back out. So maybe make sure it's actually properly in place at the top first. It maybe isn't getting guided in place like it should.

This picture tells me you aren't getting that flat part slide back into the housing - and it's pushing the cover back out. That has to be pushed back into place first. I used a bit of silicone lube on that rubber flat and it slid right into place and helps hold that cover where it should be.

Make sure that flat top part slips into the top of the winch cover. Don't fold it - it has to slip into the slot in the plastic cover.
