I have one and it's my second on a 2.5 year old truck. The first one started to do exactly what @azmojave 's did. BAK sent me another one for free. And said they'd keep on sending them if the new one wore out again. I'm happy with the cover, would prefer more longevity, but they'll make it right if they don't last.

I don't recall specifically, but it was pretty fast. Contact BAK directly. They'll make it right.

Received and installed the new cover today. I was sent just the roll up part which made removal/installation easier. They even sent me new straps, hardware and plastic knobs. Can’t remember if I had those knobs the first time. The aluminum slats seem to be a little different so maybe they have been designed better. We will see. Thanks to @RealTruck for helping me get this done and thanks to BAK for honoring their warranty. I appreciate it!

That whole setup looks a good bit different than mine.

I'm going on about 1.75 years with my setup and so far so good. Only issue I had was breaking a rear plastic piece which I just got the replacement piece on. Definitely have to say the plastic pieces on the back parts of the rails and roll cover are the weak parts.

Ouch. I thought you meant the plastic cover piece on top. I guess that’s from the tailgate hitting?
Yes sir. I did talk them into giving me several replacements for future issues and they did come through. Oh and they did send me the extra rectangle plastic pieces also just in case my current ones pop off.

I got mine at the end of May from RealTruck.
If you search the forums you will find where they offer a discount if you are a member here.
It was quite a big discount so definitely worthwhile to ask them for a quote.
Mine came with the nuts not the knobs so not sure which ones are newer…both will work, but it would be nicer with the knob.

Instead of using the parts the send to install it to the front of the bed I went to:

https://www.[Banned Site]/store/

and bought the antenna brackets to hold the rails on.

They work great and if I decide to sell it they can use the factory parts to install it into their truck..

Do I like it yes!
Are there flaws yes!
1) One of the plastic pieces at the back of the rail came in broken I phoned them and had the new one in a couple of day.

If you aligned the cover per the directions it will leave a gap by the ltailgate so adjust it to your satisfaction.

As others have complained about the front gasket it should be twice as thick as it is to give a good seal, but I’ve only noticed a small amount of water so it’s not fully waterproof.

Softopper has been amazing…and dry! Absolute only criticism of it was installing it when it was 40* outside was a bitch. The canvas is tight when new and even after lowering the pivot point it took all I had to snap the final snap. Hoping once the weather warms up it will become easier.

Cheers

What side steps / running boards are those? I like the look!

Appreciate it thanks! They are from Expedition One...took about 8 months to actually receive them but are very well made. I was impressed with the welds and powdercoating. However, it appears they may not even make them anymore as they are not listed on their website: https://www.exp-one.com/products/jeep-gladiator-products/

Cheers
Thanks for the info!

8 months?! Wow!! I poked around their site and found them. Going to look around to see if I can find anything else I like, but might bite the bullet on these.

is the silver “tread” portion powder coated or bare?

The silver part is unfinished dimpled aluminum plate that is bolted to the slider.
