Stock is fine - the stud only applies clamping force - the power travels through all points of contact.
You should also be sure to use a cutoff of some sort - switch or solenoid, and not wire the hot winch cable directly to the battery, but through a switch.
I have two grounds because I also have a snow plow.
The red cable is on the factory stud, nothing fancy.
Or you could hardwire direct to the battery like has been done fur 100 years. If the accident is bad enough to crush your winch through the plastic grill and into the radiator causing the line to short, that short is the least of your worries. Run a disconnect if you want, but most winch manufacturers don't recommend it nor do they run them on their own vehicles.
