Interesting, usually Costco stuff is pretty good. Same 850CCA, same warranty, $100 cheaper Hopefully, I won't need the warranty.

Did the job yesterday, followed the directions here. On my '21 MaxTow Gas the Aux battery cable was the one with the stud attached (both cables were wrapped with the yellow tag) Wrapped with electrical tape, then a small plastic bag and another wrap of tape. It tucked nicely down beside the new battery. Disconnected the IBS both the small wire and off the Negative cables to make the "Avengers Light" go away and see reasonable charging voltages.

ESS worked this morning for the first time in a long time, remote start worked too (luckily, I noticed the horn sounded different, as I forgot I parked the truck in the garage last night)

I'm glad to see the exact same type of battery that I am getting is recommended. It's got a painful price but should last two or three times as long (6 to 8 years) before it dies and the reserve capacity should be high enough that i never have to worry about the stereo or GMRS radio running the battery down if left on all day. I dig in remote areas and my daughter often just sits in the jeep and I need that gmrs radio on in case I need help or for her to bring me something.

I have one of these batteries on order. Should be here tomorrow. I'm doing this delete too.

Its nice. They flipped the battery and fuse box locations on the diesel. Aux is in the same place, but its now under the main battery.

Well, I got my odyssey performance agm 94R battery today from NAPA in Douglasville, Ga. Only 2 stores in a 60 mile radius in the Atlanta area had one in stock and I was told that the NAPA warehouse didn't have any in stock. Douglasville is over an hour's drive from my house. Since I have Triple-A membership I got $33 off the price when I bought it online from NAPA. Before the core refund and with tax and minus the triple-A discount the total was about $350. I didn't spend that much lightly as that is painful.
What's odd, and a bit of a disappointment, is that it doesn't have the red cover on top?? Has anyone else experienced that?
For $350 I totally expected it to be fancy! The photos show it having the red top and the part number seems to be the same.

I just replaced mine, and it has a black top as well. I've used Odysseys for years in my Tacomas and now JTR.

Good to know that it's just not me! I was worried that maybe I didn't get the standard battery despite having the standard part number and paying the standard high price.
Like you, I also had Tacoma's for years before moving back to Jeep. I had several new Tacoma 's (TRD PRO) for years and went back to Jeep when they A.) made a truck again, and C.) put a strong diesel engine in said truck.
I've been very happy with my Gladiator Rubicon Diesel and the blindly-loyal Tacoma folks don't know what a good thing they are missing.

My Odyssey was supposed to be here today. I don’t think that is going to happen. The only place around here that handles the Odyssey is Auto Zone. So I ordered through them.

I have one of these batteries on order. Should be here tomorrow. I'm doing this delete too.
From what I have read, these need a "real" agm battery charger to charge the odyssey as they are very different from all the rest.
I bought an "everstart maxx" battery charger at Walmart ($79) to charge my dual standard flooded batteries on my backhoe a couple of years ago. As it turns out, the agm function might actually be good enough to charge these appropriately, but may not provide the amps needed. I'd need the battery run down some to find that out. I've read that one needs a battery charger that you can select "agm" mode. The everstart Maxx charging behaviour was radically different in behavior with the odyssey than it was with the stock factory agm that came with the Jeep.
The reason I am replying is to let you know that I've read on here that many of these need charging when they come from the store. As far as I know, the resting voltage is supposed to be 12.85 when fully charged. When I checked mine today fresh from the store before I put it in the truck it read 12.7 volts. The lady at NAPA said it just reached the store 3 days ago and that the date code shows it was made last month sometime in November. I figured my battery charger wouldn't do much with it, but it actually cranked the voltage to 14.8 at 8 amps and stayed there for about 2 hours before going into float mode at 13.5 volts. This is different behavior than what I saw with the stock agm. I was impressed that it was giving the Odyssey the correct voltages despite not having a mode selector. The point is though that the battery needed charging despite being fresh and new so you may want to check yours.
Also, once I cranked my Jeep and let it idle awhile I went up the road for a few miles with the headlights on. When I got back home I turned it off and then looked at the voltage gauge display with the acc on, the radio on and gps on but with lights off. I toggled over to voltage and noticed that it was initially 12.7v but within a minute it was 12.5 volts and lit up red. That surprised me as I was expecting that it would show 12.7 or 12.8 without dropping. Admittedly, I don't know what it was reading with the old battery when it was working properly. If it is not too much trouble, It would be good if you'd check your battery voltage on the gauge with the engine off and the acc on after running it a bit. I'd like to know if yours is acting the same or differently.

This will be my 3rd Odyssey. Had one in my Power Wagon. Abused the shit out of it with the winch. And have one in my Nismo, which sits alot with an agm battery tender on it.
Battery still hasn't showed up today like they promised. Have idea that it's going to be on the 26th. Which is bad because we will be on the road heading to NM.

What kind of battery tender do you use? I was going to get a noco 10 genius but then read on here that they were not good for them despite a whole lot of people using/recommending them: Measured data & review NOCO Genius10 . Since the battery was expensive I want it to last and also keep the capacity up. It seems the odyssey is different from most agms when it comes to charging them.

I have the Noco 10. I just use that for battery charging. For battery tender. I use Deltran battery tender. Have used them for years with my motorcycles and other vehicles.

I added the battery a couple of days ago after charging it until the battery charger switched over to float. I noticed immediately after adding the new battery and taking a 10 mile trip that when I shut the engine off and turn on ACC and looked at the voltage with the engine off it said 12.6 but the whole panel was highlighted in red - which I've never seen before. I really wasn't expecting the voltage to drop from 12.8 to 12.6 after a ten minute drive. Perhaps it's not accurate or the IBS reset hasn't learned the new battery in that short of a drive?
Since then I've made a couple of short 20-mile round trips and checking the voltage with ACC switched on afterwards has shown 12.7 last night. I checked it today to see what it was after just sitting there and it is showing 12.3.
I really would think that the battery should be showing 12.8 or just under that. I never paid attention to it before I started having aux battery problems though.
Should I be concerned? I'll be making a 4-hour round trip drive to Cartersville and back tomorrow so maybe things will even out after that.
I also ordered a battery charger/maintainer made specifically by Odyssey for their agm batteries. It has a mode specifically for agm batteries and even has another one specific for Odyssey agm batteries. It was cheapest (free ship) buying it directly from Odyssey. It was $110 total and made by CTEK. ODYSSEY Battery 5 Amp Charger The next step up was a 15 amp for $275 and there's no way I was paying that right now. Odyssey indicates that the 5 amp is for 50AH batteries MAX and my battery is an 80ah. I emailed CTEK (who made the Odyssey-branded charger) and they stated that the Odyssey 5 amp charger will work fine for odyssey batteries up to 160ah! I imagine it'll be a bit slow on the higher ah batteries but I have more time than money right now.
