Ok, so 2 things I was trying to achieve with this project.

1st was to solve a 10 year issue of lugging crap to the beach with my family. Sick of the cheap beach cart that drags through the sand.

2nd, make a little more storage above the bed for the trip down. So why not Mount to the hitch? Good question. The hitch will be sporting a bike rack on the way down.I did make it mountable to my hitch for the end of the beach day.

In the end, I spend way more than I should have to solve my Jeeps reduced cargo capacity compared to my F150.

I love it... I've basically just ratchet straps everything together and then carry it all like a backpack.. I was tired of dragging my cart through the sand... I like this idea though.. how well does it work in the sand?

I did something along same course and it became a trailer for my 4wheeler:like: it's hauled a lot of rocks, wood and concrete blocks since.

Nice ! Please provide a parts list - what you got off the shelf and what you had to fabricate.

I know this is an old thread, but as I've been on a hunt for a beach cart build, and OP didn't reply, I wanted to answer here. I'm 99% sure he used the HF cargo carrier paired with the Big Kahuna DIY Wagon starter kit which is around $560, making this a $660ish beach cart. Here's the kit he used. https://kahunaoutfitters.com/product/do-it-yourself-aluminum-beach-wagon-starter-kit/

I'm currently looking into building my own cart out of the HF cargo carrier, but at $650+ I'd just buy a premade cart from somewhere else.

Hope that helps someone else if they happen across this post.
