I'd love to get a sidecar for it and drive the kid and dog around. It'll cost about 10k so I'll ask my wife if my boy really needs to go to college or not? Honestly, I'll probably get a onewheel and just tow the kid around. Might be the only option for now.
My original plan was this:

https://www.imz-ural.com/gear-up

Take the kids to practice etc. then I test drove a scrambler and it was just too fun. Eventually I will take a look at a sidecar bike again, but two wheels are fun!

Yes, that is really cool. I would totally trade in my bike for a new one of those. They have really updated them in the last decade. They used to be carb'd and now they seem almost, not quite, but almost modern. I really would like it to have a bigger engine just because the freeway is the only way to get around here. Still, ridiculously cool. A motorcycle atv. I just watched some guy cross a river in one on youtube. Pretty amazing. Do you think it would fit in the back of the gladiator?

Update 1:

Retrax sent me the same reply that I've seen other members have received; looks like they've given up trying to accommodate the JT community, even though other manufacturers have solved this problem:

Update #2:

Yakima has been extremely responsive. They have confirmed my findings about the difference between the Pace-Edwards Jackrabbit and Ultragroove and stated their HD line will not work with the Jackrabbit. They were not familiar with the Explorer Series rails, but have said they will check with their Fit Team as they "are definitely looking to expand the use of our truck racks as much as possible."

Pace-Edwards has not yet responded to my questions about the Explorer Series rails with the Jackrabbit for JT. Their main Explorer Series page says it is compatible, but they are not listed as an accessory on the JT Jackrabbit pages (they are on other vehicle models, so I don't see why not).

Not sure. I may go take a closer look after my truck gets here. I think the ural tops out around 70 mph though.

Nothing yet; just sent them a follow up email.

Edit: Their reply (gotta say again how impressed I am with Yakima's service response):

Ok, I think I answered my own question about the Jackrabbit vs. the Ultragroove and the Yakima. It took me watching the install video for the Yakima Tonneau Kit to get it.

The Jackrabbit sides are like this:

The Ultragroove are like this:

Hence the "groove" portion of the name! :bandit:

The Yakima Tonneau Kit has t-nut fasteners that slide into the grooves of the Ultragroove.

But all hope is not lost! Pace-Edwards has the Explorer Series Rails for the Jackrabbit that should work. They mount on top of the Jackrabbit rails like so:

Seems to me this will work, which I will confirm.

An original Jackrabbit is $1325 on their website; the full metal version is $1833. The Explorer Rails are about $400.

The Yakima OutPost base racks are $1230; the OverHaul is $1530.
QUESTION: The explorer rail is currently not available. Does anyone know how hard it would be to cut the explorer rail to fit?

Just saw this thread. I like many am in this boat of looking for a cover and a rack. I stumbled upon the Bak revolver x4. For the gladiator is has t-slot accessory rails for mounting. I have rhino rack quick detach feet, crossbars and a pioneer platform on order and will be trying it out. For a full size rack the option is the Yakima adjustable, or possibly doing a custom rack out of 80/20 extruded aluminum t-slot channels. The only downfall to my planned solution with the rhino rack feet is with them on, I won’t be able to roll the full cover back, but it’s a quick 1/4 turn on each one and I can lift it right off. Below are pictures of the cover, and a mock up with the pioneer platform I already have.

Thanks! Does the revolver come with the t-track or did you have to buy separate? Where did you buy it?

standard for all gladiator Bak x4’s confirmed with their customer support, and I’m the third gladiator owner on here to have received it. I purchased through an eBay seller. Trick is to add the item to your wishlist and wait for the seller to send you a “one time low offer”. I got mine well discounted, and still had it to my door in under a week.
