I don't think you'll be disappointed. Its honestly my favorite mod so far, and I even based my rack purchase on being able to keep its full functionality.

Just a reflection. I've had no rubbing with it in two years. Only "issue" is that the trail rail doesnt allow it to snap into the bed by the cab, so its velcroed there. No big deal really, but snaps would have been the better option.

I also no longer velcro over the tailgate. Havent had any excessive flapping, or water intrusion. The gobi rack is causing more buffeting on the softopper, but so far its holding up well.

The fix I made for this problem… I installed the provided snaps onto a piece of wood and then attached the wood to the rail with some generic inserts. Works perfect.

Have you checked out the Agri-Cover Outlander? I think it looks the best of the bunch. My only hesitation is that it folds up against the back of the cab rather than tucking away inside the bed.

I did see that one and agree, it is a very nice looking top. I felt that folding it up would have made me want to remove it completely because of how it folds.

yes and no. If installed the way I have it, yes. But it’s relatively easy to take off if I wanted to use the forward rail. Alternatively, I’d imagine that instead of one long continuous piece (such as the one I put together) it would be possible to fabricate 3 smaller sections and leave the rails open between each. I’ll have to revisit the issue if I decide I need to use it. Thus far I’ve been able to make everything work with tie downs on the side rails in concert with the metal “D” tie downs at the bottom of the bed.
