So mine did arrive today, the stupid cable retainers took the longest for me as well. @Bestop maybe relieve the plastic a bit so and use a nylon nut or something to capture it? There wasn't enough purchase for my finger to hold the retainer piece when I tightened it. Sure it's got loctiite but something semi captured in the frame would be a lot more solid I think.

Otherwise simple install and even with the retainers I was done in under 30 minutes, and I am NOT mechanically inclined at all (I type for a living for a reason).

10/10 though so far.

I'm glad to hear that overall, the install went smooth! I will share your feedback with the team! Thank you for sharing!

I was gonna buy a bestop sunrider, one way or the other, for my 2021 JTRD. I was undecided, which one to buy. The reason I went with the Twill, was a YouTube video. The guy took a pressure washer and blasted the top, up close, as he laid it on concrete, before his install. Not only did the pressure washer not tear the twill Sunrider, but it didn’t even let a drop of water go through. Amazing!
As for the install, I was recovering from a motorcycle accident, so it was a slight struggle. The struggle came when trying to install the two bolts, on the lower part of the top, as I had diminished strength. Because of this, the bolts were a little short. So I luckily, had longer bolts on hand that worked. The longer bolts pulled the top into place. I then replaced the longer bolts, with the bolts that came with the top.
That was the first of many, many mods I’ve done to my rig. It is still by far, my favorite. Whenever it is 60° or warmer, with any amount of sun, I pop the top open. I call it my five second convertible. I’ve never had even one drop of water, leak in. I do leave the top on throughout the winter. But I agree with shadowspapa, that road salt may compromise the integrity. I’m retired so I don’t drive it crazy amounts of miles.
With the top closed and the windows up, the only time I feel it’s loud, is when I’m on the highway and up against the cement median. At that point, I just turn the stereo up. And with passengers in the vehicle, I never feel it’s too noisy to have a conversation. I’ve since added the Bestop retractable sunscreen, for front passengers, who enjoy the top open, but are sensitive to the sun.
