So I'm trying to decide on a way to carry bikes while towing a camper. Been to rv forums, and most would agree the back of the camper is not a good idea without somewhat substantial upgrades/welded supports, etc. Too much bounce and torque back there, warranty issues, and can't see the bikes if things go poorly.

A good solution I'm considering is a front receiver (which I think I want to add anyway) and a bike rack for it. Concerns now are visibility and airflow, especially with cooling and airflow being a bit of a challenge on the JT. Considered a jack-it, tongue mount rack that goes above the propane tank. But I want to be able to carry 4 bikes, and I've only found 2 bike racks of that kind.

Truck bed is occupied by the dog under a soft topper...

Anyone do this with their JT? Most of the rv forums I've seen are on f150s or Rams

I know the payload/tow capacity stuff already and will factor that in not looking to get into that topic ?

I did this on my first gladiator. Visibly is somewhat restricted. I wouldn’t do more than 2 bikes.

Yes seen that and others that go in that spot but they all seem to be 2 bike only
How many bikes do you plan to carry??

I have and use a Lolo upright, and the rack itself is probably 60-80lbs…. Figure an average good light mountain bike is 23-25# a piece, enduro bikes 32-35#’s….

Personally I’d ditch the front hitch idea…. Go with a gutter mounted roof rack and throw the bikes up top. OR (not sure what the front of your trailer looks like) something on the tongue of the trailer.

if your looking to carry more than 2 I think your going to have to stick them IN the trailer…. Or the dog is going to have to get cozy with two more in the bed with fork mounts.

Just might be me but I'd say there's a damn good reason why you can't find....and nobody manufactures a 4 bike for the front or an RV.

I'd personally never put more than 2 on the front.

I used to use a rear 4 bike hitch rack and it always made me uneasy every time it was loaded with all 4 bikes and that was something "made" to handle the load (in addition to the heavy tongue weight).

Luckily I only need to carry 1 or 2 now.

agree after seeing more images of 4 bikes in front of f150's or rams, it's quite a lot up front. i think i'm off that idea

i have been eyeing up that same tongue mount rack, maybe 2 there, 2 inside. haven't thought of gutter mount rack up top, thanks for that recommendation ill look into that
