Everyone has to make themselves happy. To me, a black grill always looks awful and says "I'm trying too hard to be unique, just like everyone else." But it's your Jeep. The Plasti-dip might work in cool climates with mild sun, but here in AZ, they look like complete shit in a very short time. The wraps however, seem to go five years easily. So considering where OP lives, probably better off with a wrap.
No need to bash the hell out of all black grill owners just to answer the question. Kind of a D comment. Maybe you buying the Gladiator was YOU trying too hard to be unique?

OP asked for an opinion and I gave it. Sorry snowflake. And yes, my choice on my Gladiator could very well be me trying too hard, or might be just my need to tow with less drama than my old Wrangler. Dunno.

Hahaha....snowflake, clearly you do not know me but being called out for a D comment definitely got to you or you would not have gone straight to the highly intellectual name calling. No need for me to respond to you any longer....

No, I'm good with being called a dick. You can say that online you know.

A friend informed me this morning that there's a tough clear coating for Plasti-dip that makes it survive in AZ. That's new to me, and worth looking into for people using that in hot/sunny places.

Nope, just answering a request for opinions and sharing my real thoughts.

I do love how you're stalking me though. Gives me an erec(COUGH) warm fuzzy feeling.

No regrets at all.
Hey there. I’m trying to decide if I will or not. I have a sport and would need to switch over all and paint the surround. Anyway you can tell me if that surround is two or three pieces?

It is a one piece grill and surround unlike the Rubicon. I had the surround left body color and center grill painted satin.

Yep the black does look good on some colors but it is hard to keep clean and the bugs and gunk seem to be harder to get off then on a waxed painted surface. After time in the AZ sun, they will fade, maybe sun anywhere but might take longer

As weird as it sounds, I use Pledge, bugs don't stick, and keeps it black.

I just took delivery of a granite Mojave And it has the satin grill I wasn’t sure I was going to like it from the dealers photos.... after seeing in in person I actually love it!

Any chance you could take a couple more pics from different angles? I’ve got a GC as well and have been debating this…thanks!

I had a black satin grill on my 2018 JLU Sahara. It took some minor road debris/rock dings/scratches. I took it off when I sold it to CarMax as part of getting ready for my JT delivery. It would need the trim surrounds, unless you have them already—assuming Rubicon, Mojave, and overland so. I will let it go for $150+shipping if anyone is wants it. I have not posted this elsewhere yet. PM me if interested.

That combo looks sharp with the yellow and all the black detail. Me personally, I would have blacked out the rocker and pinch seam.
