Bulletpoint mounts (critique/complaint); long story: They have a lot of ads and the ads drew me in. Considering the bullets arranged in an American flag pattern, I thought "must be American made." Due diligence required. Appeared to be a solid phone mount solution, so I ordered: a Matte Color Carbon Fiber Mounting Arm; T-Tab Single Slot Mount Adapter, & a Gladiator Driver Side Single Ball Mounting Base. The T-Tab ad is supposed to mate with my existing Scosche Magic Mount magnetic charger. However, after placing the order and receiving a confirmation email, I get an email 12 hours later from Bulletpoint (BP) saying "order cancelled."

A follow-up email from the company stated, "No what you ordered is not going to work, so I canceled your order... Can you please send me a photo of the back of the Scosche (Magic Mount) so I can make a recommendation on how to mount it?" I found that to be odd, because their ad for that mount has a picture of my exact Scosche mount/charger. So, I sent them pictures and measurements of the mount.

Then I get an email response, "I do not have a way to mount that to our system. I am sorry. Did you want to look into one of our chargers?" My initial thought was, "OK, they want me to buy their charger, instead of selling me the less expensive mount that their own ad clearly shows will work with my own charger." So, I drill down with the BP rep. Then I get this response, "I have a call into my R&D team to verify. I could be totally wrong and they have tested it. But I will 100% verify and get back to you shortly."

Then I get a video from Bulletpoint showing me a different mount than what I had ordered. Still trying to sell me something I didn't order? Then two more emails, "Ok I am mistaken they have told me this has been tested with the scosche and it will work. I am waiting to get the exact eta on when we expect them back in stock and will get back to you shortly." And, "There is not an eta. As I mentioned they are redoing this one. I am sorry for the confusion."

That was yesterday; then today I get a phone call telling me it could be a year before that item (which is still listed on their site, & can be ordered, though not available); a year before they might have it in? I ask, "Is this item manufactured in the USA?" Her, "No, it's manufactured overseas." Me, "Is that China?" Her, "Yes." Me: "Thanks for your time; I'll watch the site for availability. Good bye." Then I go to their site FAQs & run across this:

"Where are your products manufactured?
We have both domestic and offshore suppliers for our products. Like most global companies, some of our components are manufactured overseas and are assembled in the US.

Sadly, many of our competitors use deceptive practices to claim their goods are made in the USA when they source components from overseas. They take advantage of US laws that allow businesses to claim they are made in the US even though it may only be assembled here."

That last paragraph caught my eye, because it's not exactly what Bulletpoint is doing. I don't see them claiming all their products are Made in USA. But with this product that I ordered, it definitely is made in China, per the rep.

Now I do give the rep credit for staying in touch via email and then calling to say my item could "take a year" before being available. However, I was disappointed in discovering yet more Made in China parts, and I was disappointed in her initial ignorance about whether or not that Chinese part would mate with my Chinese Scosche charger. I say all this only to relay my experience with this company. I've noticed a lot folks who are happy with their Bulletpoint mounts. Whatever works for you is fine. I may decide to order from BP again, but my experience with this rep was less than exemplary.

I have the bullet point dual spring loaded clamp mount. It came with my Jeep and has been pretty good for its intended purpose. The only critique would be the amount of force necessary to adequately tighten the adjustment knobs.
