So, last month our Pop-up was stolen. Fortunate for us it was recovered teh next day minus teh stuff that was inside. Yes, stupid tweekers stole it and broke into it. It didn't need to be broken into since it didn't lock to begin with. Stupid for me for storing teh off season camping gear. In the end we are only short our cast irons and couple camp tables. All good stuff but easy to replace i guess. They did leave our 2 burner stove so we got that back.

Who ever took it did try to seal the leaks but a very good job. Long story short, it forced my hand into completing some long overdue upgrades, fixes and additions. My first Dilema was the bikes. Transporting them in the bed consume a great deal of space and travel storage. SO, i added cross bars with bike mounts.

For the camper i removed all 4 corner caps, removed all the rotten wood, replaced and resealed the corners. Stripped off all teh decals and sticky stuff, primed and painted all the metals. I rubberized the roof with Beest's rubber roof primer and coating. It turned out really well!! I will be replacing all teh lights with LED and adding a new decal on teh sides to give it a little more modern look. We are excited to get back out there!!

Damn thieves. The bike rack looks very low profile. How do you keep the stuff in the bed dry?

I can't believe they went to the bother of stealing a popup. Not exactly a high dollar item. Looks like a lot of work. I'm about to tackle the roof on mine since none of the shops around me want to do it. geesh, nobody wants to make money anymore!

yeah, it's a cheap little pop-up but it keeps the wife off the ground so win-win. I will have some nice pictures of the set up end of the month for our first big trip this year. I get pretty into the camp cooking. Just got a blackstone griddle and replacement cookware. some camp chairs. Nothing like cold mornings and camp coffee in the quiet misty campgrounds.

Did you remove the old membrane roof first or go right over it? I'm going to have to remove mine since it's come unglued in a couple of spots.
mine was aluminum skin. It says on the video you can go over top though. I watched a lot of Youtube videos. It turned out a lot better than i expected. I used their primer too. It just looks unsightly until it complete cured. I admittedly do not have the patience to watch paint dry because it doesn't have the "look good now" factor LOL I sealed all the parts that needed attention prior to application teh went for it.

The sides i used a foam cabinet roller, rustoleum primer and semi-gloss white. It turned out amazing! I can't wait to put the new decals on it and LED lights.

I have a roof top cargo bag. I'll probably fabricat a rack to put the between the bikes. It works great because when its not in use it folds up in a bin in teh garage and in camp it stows under teh bunk on the ground like a storage container. It helps keep things out of sight and away from wild life.

Added LED side lights. The brake lights didn’t pan out so I need to go a different route later on this summer.

Got some generic decals to break up the white. The top was Beest elastomeric roof topping. It was ok but the finish wasn’t what we were looking for so I painted it with white acrylic exterior paint. That should make it easier to keep clean. I put so many coats the screws don’t have slots anymore. Hahahaha

the door panel has been repainted too. Will button it up and have everything back together tomorrow!
