Hey guys about a week and a half ago I realized my coolant was low probably around 10oz I put some more coolant in there and drove maybe 70 miles and checked my coolant reservoir and it looked low again!! I don’t think it’s a head gasket because my coolant isn’t discolored at all and my oil isn’t showing any signs no white smoke from exhaust or any sort of issues running or idling. This leads me to believe there’s a leak somewhere and either it’s burning off because I can smell coolant and have been able to since I bought the truck Seems like it’s coming from the radiator by my nose detector but I see no residue or puddling so where else should I check and how to try and track down this coolant disappearing? Thanks guys! P.S. warranty is out I’ll be under the shade tree.

Had same issue. No puddling, no white smoke, burned coffee scent, no engine lights, and no stored codes. Eventually, I started getting misfire codes (random and cylinder #3). Took it to the dealer. At first, they didn't see any codes (live or stored). Then, they called me and said I had a bad head head gasket. Not sure how many miles you have, but it should be covered under powertrain warranty (5yr/60k mi). If it's beyond that, shop online for extended warranty (which is what I did). I was still covered under powertrain warranty, but the Max Care (ext warranty) paid for a rental/loaner car (Wrangler 4XE). Prior to the codes, I had an oil analysis done, and it showed presence of coolant. Good luck.

BYW what is your mileage range? I'm close to 100k now. I already bought a oil cooler assembly as preparation and looking at ordering a set of spark plugs and coil packs. Fortunately, I decided not to start my locker install with the current rainy weather happening now.

That's a bummer. At least you know what it is now. Bummer that the rear main seal is leaking as well. Hope the repair goes well. I almost bought my JT at that dealer, but found one closer to home.
First time I’ve been to this one I have no complaints service advisors are good and so far they don’t seem to be giving me any Trouble I had no idea about the rear main…

I’m a little over 43k now and having them replace plugs with ngk’s so i don’t have to deal with that mess… I saw they have an aluminum unit available now I’m not sure if it’s mopar or Dorman?

The one I bought is Amazon special that is all aluminum that is supposed to be a match with out plastic. I try to plan ahead of maintenance needed, heck I bought a clutch assembly for my Wrangler over 10 years before I needed it and brake pads for it and my JT ready to install, about 4 gallons of oil and filters, ATF and gear oil.

I’m with you man it’s like that saying “it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it” I do the exact same thing I’d rather not have to drive my chevrolegs 20 miles to find someone to tow me out lol
