Don't garage door openers have a rolling code to prevent cloning of their remotes? Why wouldn't that work on our Jeeps?

Doesn't the entire concept of CANbus render it vulnerable at any point in the network since every node is on the same bus?

I would think a hidden relay to place short across the network when all systems are off would lock everything down.
Yes. Access lighting system wiring can get you in. Been done- theft by headlight wiring harness access.

Not all systems are always off when shut down. These stay awake for a while after shutting down then some things wake periodically when sitting.
