Tazer can simply be unplugged.Doesnt the Tazer have a pin lock feature which requires you to punch in a pin code? Does that do a similar thing to this method?
Did someone piss him off? I bought a few things from him over the yearsAmpire or Make a harness for the Tazer like I did and hide it…
Both my Jeeps have hidden Tazers, kept my jeeps safe when others on my street got stolen.
Unfortunately I don’t think Jimmy comes on this board anymore to buy a harness from. I don’t even come on this board anymore….
Someone already makes a steel box that covers the OBD port.A relatively easy way to add an additional layer of theft protection to your JT would be to mechanically cover the electronic access ports.
I would encourage everyone to email Tuffy ([email protected]) and ask them to make the following:
1) Small steel lock box for the OBD port....you could then mount it up under the steering wheel making the thief have to stand on their head to find, look at and then pick/defeat the lock/box.
2) Small steel lock box for the Star Connectors (CANBUS) located behind/below the glovebox.
3) Locking Steel Glovebox
Tuffy told me they are willing to make more security products for the JT if there is enough interest. Encourage your JT friends to reach out to them.
Part number or link to the one you used?I installed a dummy obd port, simply unnclipped and tied it up. Put in dummy one and randomly ran wire up into the dash. I also use the above mentioned kill switch for the starter button
You are the guy who did the work on relocating a disabling device - I read it, it was fascinating. And I find it as the only real solution if you can't garage it or leave it in a locked building. Towing would be the only way to take it with your solution. Few are prepared for that.Someone already makes a steel box that covers the OBD port.
BUT as I have already addressed, that won’t do anything as you can just cut the wires right behind it…
Same with covering the Star connector box. The only way to protect the Jeep is to HIDE the can bus I mobilizer device so it cannot be taken out. And if you do that, it doesn’t matter if you can get to the OBD port or start connector box.
This has been addressed in MANY threads in this forum, not sure why people keep randomly bringing it up. I believe it is even addressed in this thread. I guess no one is reading the thread or other threads from the beginning…

I think this keeps getting brought up because someone said their Jeep was broken into and the console rifled through and the glove box broken - and what did people think instantly? Oh, they were trying to steal your jeep.
No, they weren't, but every post like that brings these out of the woodwork again.
Hell, that thread even generated talk of gun safes?
The guy was asking how to replace the glove box! Nothing else!.
Yep, this is the actual thread where I posted everything… the custom harness I made and everything about relocating the Tazer and also the other can bus devices …You are the guy who did the work on relocating a disabling device - I read it, it was fascinating.
