I’m having my jeep regeared. I have a Tazer installed but the installer of the gears hasn’t worked with one before. I was going to just program it when I pick it up but if I don’t have to sit in the parking lot messing with it I’ll just drive it home and do it then.

Only takes a few minutes. Go into the menu, select the new gear ratio, do the 2 cycle reboot (which takes <3 minutes total).

Pretty sure it will mess with shift points if you don't. I think it will want to shift early, and you'll run through all 8 gears way too quickly. That and/or it will hunt while you're cruising.

If you're a couple minutes down the block...sure, go for it. But otherwise...why? You have the tool, just do it correctly.

I just couldn’t recall how long the reboot takes. Thought it takes a bit longer

Probably a little bit longer... the full reboot is 120 seconds, so 2 minutes there. The 2 sleep cycles are a minute each AFTER the dash shuts off, so more like 90 seconds for each. Still, shouldn't take more than 6-8 minutes start to finish if you remember exactly where that setting is in the menus.
