I’ve been searching with limited success on this topic. It seems that tinting the rear window on a soft top is shady at best, and can ruin an otherwise good window. But i hate that all of my other windows are tinted, but the rear is clear. MOPAR makes a tinted version, but i don’t see what the % tint is and it’s almost $400!! Any suggestions? I’m not above using some type of clingy sort of decal material. Ideas?

I have the same problem. I searched for “flexible tint”, but couldn’t really find anything. I noticed static cling tint. Not sure how well that would hold up? It’s pretty cheap so I might give it a try.

Have you thought about contacting a tint shop in your area to see if they would have any reasonable ideas? Seems as though they might know a solution. ?

I've used insta-cling tint to tint soft top windows in the past. I would make a pattern out of paper, tape it to the tint and cut it out. I sprayed the window with water before applying the tint so the position of the tint could be adjusted, then squeegeed the water out from between the tint and the window.

Yes, when i had the rest of my windows done the place i brought it to told me that they won’t do the soft rear window. I had all of my other windows done with 20%.

Gotcha, wasn't sure if it may have been an option worth looking into. My soft top wranglers, I always had a clear and tinted rear. Those were purchased though. Found the spare through offerup, craigslist and others. Best of luck to you which ever way you go.

Yes, you can tint a soft top rear window, but there are some important factors to consider before doing so.

Firstly, it's important to ensure that the tint film you use is specifically designed for use on soft top windows. This is because traditional automotive tint films may not be suitable for use on these types of windows due to the soft, pliable nature of the material. Using the wrong type of tint film can result in bubbling, cracking, or other forms of damage to the soft top material, which can compromise its functionality and durability.

Additionally, it's important to check with your local regulations to ensure that the level of tint you choose is within legal limits. Different states and municipalities have different regulations regarding the darkness of tint that is permitted on vehicle windows, and exceeding these limits can result in fines or even legal consequences. It's important to check these regulations before tinting your soft top rear window to ensure that you're in compliance with the law.

If you do decide to tint your soft top rear window, it's important to have it professionally installed by a qualified and experienced installer. This is because soft top windows are often more difficult to work with than traditional automotive windows, and require specialized knowledge and techniques to ensure a smooth, even application. A professional installer will be able to assess your soft top window and determine the best approach to tinting it, ensuring that the end result is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

In summary, while it is possible to tint a soft top rear window, it's important to use the right type of tint film, ensure compliance with local regulations, and have it professionally installed to avoid any potential damage or legal issues.

You can buy one from mopar. The Sport S, soft top comes with a tinted one. Glad you got the soft top to, you will never want a hard top again. Mopar did an excellent job on ease of use and fit.
