2022 Gladiator, Sport S, ED. Looks like I can't access any music in my Itunes library if I'm going over 5mph. Used to work fine and it seems with one of the latest updates the Nanny state stepped in and wants you to use Siri to play music from your library. Anyone know if there's a workaround for it?

Correct. I should have mentioned that. The 2022 Gladiator didn't come with wireless Carplay. As such, I'm using a wired connection to the radio.

Iphone 14
IOS 18.5 (22F76)

Great that helps. I will say I use my Music app a lot, have a huge library of some of my own uploaded music as well as Apple Music and I have no issues playing any of it by tapping the screen. Worked both on my 2020 Gladiator and now my 2025 Gladiator. I was running 18.5 on both before jumping to the beta to test some features. So I really doubt its not the nanny state and it would be all over the Apple groups if it was.

A few questions...
Does your phone play your Music app without being connected to Carplay?
You mention iTunes, do you have your own library on a PC or Mac? Guessing a PC. Are those songs downloaded on your phone?

Does the music app show up in Carplay?
Do other apps not work? Maps? phone, text, etc?
Have you tried a different cable?

If your cable allows and you can have somebody take pics or vid of what happening it might help too.

My 2021 had a similar issue. It limited the number of songs/playlists I could access in wired CarPlay Spotify. It also wouldn’t let you use a keyboard to search in Apple Maps. I got a wireless CarPlay dongle off Amazon that solved both issues. It has a few quirks but much better than wired.

If needed, I plug into the rear seat charger (no CarPlay) to charge my phone.

When I first bought my 22 it was very quirky about the cable I used. A non Apple branded cable was hit or miss. Worked perfect with an Apple one though. I also bought a dongle off of Amazon to not have to plug in all the time. Works pretty well though sometimes will hang at first connection. Never a problem with music selection though.
