Thanks for that info, so 15-20 days basically. I won't be camping as much, I think it will be camp one night, hotel the next to keep the little lady happy.

This is awesome!! One of my hopes for this trip is to also camp out on a trail...either Top of the World or Chicken Corners.

Looks like you had a blast!!
Yeah, for the last 5 or so years I've been flying out to UT to do a camping/off road trip with a few friends and the last trip in 21 I decided I was done with that and ready to go out with my own vehicle.

I also haven't done a real road trip in decades, so this was definitely an awesome time.

I will say I really wished I lived closer to UT lol.

The pin in my list is a bit off, but these are the two spots we camp in on chicken corners:

I like the first one better, but the other one is just fine... I haven't done TOTW yet, but that looks like a good time.

LOL at our rented ram rebel... Glad to not worry about getting a good rental vehicle anymore.

No problem at all.

Yeah, I asked my wife about coming out this year and she's not so keen all the camping and driving, or offroading lol.. . I may fly her out this year for a few days in a hotel while we check out the various parks.

She's more of a hang out at the beach or pool with a drink kind of girl..

My family and I did Colorado last summer, with the wife and kid flying out while I drove out.

Yellowstone is on the discussion block for next year.

I’m anxious and excited about TOTW. Aside from 35s and winch, I’m stock. Ppl have told me it’s very doable with the right lines.

I've heard the same thing. I'm still on 33s, but at some point before September I'm planning on going to 35s..

We'll see...

I’ll keep you posted.

The White Rim and TOTW are the ones we’re definitely doing.

By the way, I just realized 2 things....

1) I was in the middle of starting to prep for dinner so didn't have a chance to check out those links. I'm SO saving those waypoints...thank you!!

2) a RENTAL vehicle!?!?! hahahaha I love it!!!

The white rim is awesome, we did that one in 2019 I think.

Which sites did you book? I think white crack is my favorite, but I haven't been to all of them yet..

No problem, I've got a lot of stuff saved in Gaia, let me know if you are looking anywhere else and I will see if I have been there.

We had typically been renting JLU Rubicons from cliffhanger since we did stuff like elephant hill where a "normal" rental wouldn't really work.

2019 we wanted to do more trail riding instead of rock crawling so I rented the ram (that was a lot cheaper than cliffhanger as well).

It did really well actually, but we didn't work it too hard lol.

Taking my gladiator was much nicer though, I never realized what a difference airing down made to ride comfort...

I haven't booked any sites yet. My family and I are going to Great Smoky National Park in the next couple months so that has most of my attention. Want to make sure I have some hikes (and trails) planned.

Once that trip is over with, I'll set my sights fully on Moab. I have a bunch of GPX files as well but its been a while since I've looked at them. I may hit you up for any of your favorite backcountry campsites. Greatly appreciate the offer!

Again, I won't have the family so I'm taking full advantage of not having to be in a campground...

Sounds good!

Just be aware, at least in my experience that the campsites on the white rim disappear pretty quickly once they become available to book and you can't do back country camping there...

Aside from White Crack, do you have any other favorites?

I think Airport was OK if I remember correctly. Most of the ones we saw were double spots so you had other people kind of close. Nothing beat the views at white crack though.

Keep in mind that I haven't been to all of the sites. I think we only ran about half of the trail.

Having rental jeeps we just weren't prepared well enough to make us comfortable running the whole way.

I have mounted two wavian Jerry cans in the bed to fit under my cover, I used wavian Jerry can mounts on rough country molle panels.
