So all of my kids are currently in love with the Jeep, except for some frustration my 5 year old has. She really struggles to get into it on her own. I want to put some kind of step that stays mostly out of the way for her primarily on the driver's side rear, maybe a matching on the passenger's side. I have a Rubicon with the stock sliders on the sides.

I only expect her to need this for 1-2 years tops, so not looking to spend a ton of money on something.

My dad has something like this on his JK, but it looks like they are incompatible, otherwise I might just "borrow them"

Any ideas on something cost effective?

I would expect the JL version of the one you linked would work.

I went to an Equestrian Tack Shop (horse riding accessories) and bought 2 straps and 2 aluminum stirrups (My wife is 5'1"ish). I put the stirrups on the leather strap, then loop the strap through the seat mount. The whole things tucks neatly up under the seat when not in use, and can be pulled out when needed and tucked back in after use when you are sitting in the seat. Less than 100 bucks. I initially made this set-up for my lifted JK, but use it now on my lifted JT. I'm sure that it could be adjusted to attach somewhere in the back also. Lemme know if you'd like pictures...

When you get a chance that would be awesome. This sounds like a really good option for my daughter!

Okay, so I had something come up last night and didn't have time to play with my Jeep, folks. I'll give it another attempt tonight after work. Sorry for the delay!

Okay folks. I was able to grab a few pics last night. Should be pretty much self-explanatory. Let me know if you have any questions!

That’s a slick idea! Giddy-up! Mounting them in the back might be a challenge since the seat is mounted on the back wall of the cab. I don’t suppose they get used for getting out?

What they get used for all depends on what she's wearing and how graceful she wants to look while entering and exiting;). And yeah, it might be difficult to implement this in the back seat. Unless you use a longer attachment rope and loop it around the back leg of the front seat, maybe? I got the idea from someone who made their own using thick nylon rope that they wove together to create a foot loop at the bottom. A piece of narrow PVC pipe was added to the loop at the bottom to keep the stepping surface straight. Doing it that way can give you any length you need, so maybe you can try that...

Thanks for sharing. That is an awesome idea and I like how it hangs down further than any of the steps you can buy. Might hit up a few places this weekend to build myself a set of those.

I like your stirrup idea better. Should be able to mount the rear to the back of the front seat support.

They are incompatible.

I have two of these from my past JL on the front of my JT Rubicon with the stock sliders for a certain short rider/driver, but not inexpensive.

thanks for letting me know. Was hoping to steal the ones off of my dads JK. These are very expensive, I think I might make my own stir up style one out of some rope. My youngest is only 50lbs so it won’t Need anything too strong.
