Hey guys and gals lol, I am trying to route the antenna cable from the passenger side in the bed of the jeep to the inside of the cab. Does anyone have any ideas? I have tried looking for vids but could not find anything. I have the CB bar installed and the CB in the center. Just need help with routing the antenna cable thanks. Oh so far I have the antenna cable going through the role bar towards the back passenger seat.

There should be plugs on both sides of the firewall separating the engine from the cockpit. They are not too difficult to find. Here is the one on the passenger side (vid link). The one on the driver side is really easy to find.

I routed mine from the bed, (driverside, against the cab-but on the corner of the bed) down, between the bed and cab. Then crawled under and popped it up next to the rear seat on the driver side where there was a rubber plug access. I think I found the rubber plug access by pulling the carpet up, between the rear seat and the driverside rear door. I left the plug in, just drilled thru it then re-sealed it. Then routed the antenna coax under the rear floor mat to the center console and to the radio located up front on the passenger side of the console. Seems to me the rubber plug was hard to find from under due to under coating., but I have to ask, why CB? I have one to, never used it in 2 years, but I do use the P.A. on it. Jamboree and most clubs are using the GMRS, I think I started a thread on GMRS install here some where. I'll look.

Thanks for the info on GMRS, never heard of it. I think many of our local groups are still using CBs but will verify. You may have saved me some money/time. However, I see where a license may be required, is this true? Also, can I just get a pair of walkies and save the trouble of installing a base unit in the truck?

License, no. But they are available and cover your whole family. No test is required. Its just a fee. Most of the groups and Jamborees operate on the license free channels. You should be fine with A set of the walkie-talkies, or the MXT105 set up. The MXT115 and above models have repeater capabilities which you will probably never need and should have a license for to use. Look at your groups, see what they are using and make a call on what will serve you best. Happy trails
