I can’t remember the road name, but had fun on a trail near cottonwood lake in BV. We were dispersed camping near cottonwood, at it took us above the tree line.Anyone have trails to recommend in Buena Vista? Our group has been going to Ouray for years now so we decided to spread our wings and try BV this year. We are all seasoned wheelers. The only stock vehicle in the group will be my mojave. Looking for suggestions. We don't want rock crawling type trails but not looking for gravel roads either. Thanks for any help and yes we have the above mentioned book but like to here personel suggestions as well.
Will check the book to see if I can figure it out. We did the overland trail from Crede to Silverton last year and camped on the trail one night. Was a greeat way to start the week.I can’t remember the road name, but had fun on a trail near cottonwood lake in BV. We were dispersed camping near cottonwood, at it took us above the tree line.

I have looked at the book, was looking for personel recommendations. Tincup/St Elmos will be done while we are there but need some more. Thanks.
Stop at the General Store in Elmo and ask Chris what the Tincup portion of the trail looks like, sometimes it's washed out from spring snows, what places it's rough in, etc. and he'll have reports from everyone. Start early it's like an 8 hour loop. We usually head towards Hancock first, stop in Pitkin for fuel and the burger grill there, then loop to Tincup and back down Tincup Pass back into Elmo...I have looked at the book, was looking for personel recommendations.
