I've put PPF on both my cars (only on the front clip)... I really enjoy the piece of mind that the PPF is going to take the brunt of damage from rock chips, stones, gravel, etc. That being said, my PPF is on my sports car and my wife's SUV... so not exactly off road vehicles. I am in process of ordering a Gladiator and ideally will PPF the front for the same piece of mind.

In terms of shops, I would not work with a shop that didn't use either Xpel or Suntek PPF. I believe the PPF I've put on both cars has run about $1200-1500 for just the front clip, to give you a range. 2 really reputable shops that are probably the expensive side, but you could check out their websites to see their pricing to see what your NY shop should be charging if they're good, look up Chicago Auto Pros, and Luxe Auto Spa (in Salt lake).

Ive been looking to do mine, where did you end up getting yours done at? About how much. My last quote was around 10k
auto supershield in Boca Raton, around $7,500. That was in Feb of 2020 before everything shut down.

For 6-10k I'm thinking I can just fix the paint at some point. I think I've decided to just go with the a pillars, hinges and that's probably it.

I think I'm going to do a satin black plastidip on the grill and see how that goes.

We have a partner shop do our PPF anf tint installs, they use Xpel exclusively and yes, we use it for many of our DIY kits for screens, lower rockers, etc... It's an amazing product and well worth it, ...if you're willing to pay fot it as it; snot cheap, nor should your installatoin be. Here in Houston, expect 5-7k for a full vehicle, ...granted the Jeep may be aa bit less (no bumpers, roof, etc...) so 3.5-4k isn;t out of the question. However, don't underestimate a quality ceramic coating. We used Xpel for my front fenders, partial hood and full grill. Then ceramic coated the entire truck. It helps, a lot more than I thought it would for less than half the cost of full PPF.
Greg ;)

Oh, see, another reason (ceramic)to be in touch in the near future. I’ve got my eye on you. I’m an hour south of Houston.
