7 and 8 are absolutely fine for OAT.I was looking through a junk drawer (for something else) and what did I find? Some pH strips! Don't remember ever getting them, but I'm sure at the time I thought "these might come in handy someday". Goes to show you that you should never throw anything away (contrary to what my wife says about all the stuff I've collected over the years).
pH strips says 8, which is just on the basic side, so I'm good, I think.
Or, I could take my pH meter and test it and be sure down to the hundredth.
I need to dig out the electronic coolant test device I inherited from my first shop boss when he retired and gave me a bunch of his tools. I should see if it still works. I almost forgot I had it. For my cars, they get 2 year coolant changes and I've never really thought of bothering to test it in those.
