I am not totally sold on this body armor. I've tried to find reviews on the forum but can't seem to find any. Has anyone tried them, and what has been your experience?

What's the point of that product?
Gives you extra mall cred.
Jokes aside I've never seen the point in them unless you got a Jk were you can't replace the cowl piece unlike the Jl's/Jt's

My time spent on the trail I've seen moderate sized branches fall on the cowl area and completely messes up everything so I didn't see the purpose of that "protector" lol. However for some cases I saw it actually kinda helped from wiping out other things and sorta preventing some but not all damage
but hey it looks cool for some, for me it just

looks tacky as all hell like the one shown imo, unless it's plain stamped metal💪🏾And if it's plastic what the hell are ya doing :CWL:

To protect your vulnerable cowls from… things.

If you find yourself in a situation where you feel you need cowl armor, you’re probably up a creek!
And don't forget it adds 15 ft pounds of torque, plus mall cred :CWL:

The JTs and JLs have that extra bolt on the doors but i heard of people with JKs having doors swing open with strap off and the mirrors hitting the cowl. Other than that, no idea. I think it's ugly.

They are for when you go to take your doors off/put back on. During the time over-travel stopper, and the strap are off you have an “oops” where the wind takes the door or you open and forget it won’t stop and the mirror hits the cowl vent. These are cheaper and resistant to the same dent.

A decent light mount will do the same “protection” from doors.

if it is the pesky moderate sized branches on the trail that hurt your baby, get limb risers. Protects much more.

If that is the piece that gets you street cred on your mall crawler, rethink your choices.
