Boric acid is good. Also I REALLY like permetherin. You can get the concentrate from Tractor Supply or similar that makes about 5 gallons for $15. Works to keep ants from the kitchen in the spring. Also can dilute it down and spray all your outdoor clothing. After it dries you get about 8 washes before it stops working. Keeps ticks and mosquitos off. It's a miracle chemical.

Any swimming pool supply store probably stocks 25 pound bags (or perhaps more) of diatomaceous earth. It is used in some pool filters. It has many other uses, though.
