So I just bought my Sport S through Carvana 3 days ago. They were closing when we got to the vending machine, so it was basically just, “I’ll be inside if you need anything.” We were all excited and with the kids, so we did a quick once-over and off we went. But then soon as my wife left the parking lot she noticed a small spider crack right behind the wiper. She snapped a pic so we could deal with it in the morning. Needless to say by yesterday the crack had grown horizontally to half the length of the windshield. It’s all the way through, inside and out, hence the double crack.
Then I texted a Carvana “advocate”, who said that there was nothing they could do because it had to be caught before we accepted delivery. I pushed the issue, explained how it went when we picked it up, and let them know we have a photo with a time/location stamp. Then they asked if we took the 10-15 minute spin. Nope. Not even offered. They finally escalated it and sent it to the team leader, who had me submit more photos and said it will probably have to be done through the warranty company but they can’t do anything until they’ve “verified the delivery procedure”.
So my question is, do I need to be worried about the windshield breaking before Carvana takes care of it? Like should I just have it repaired and hope the warranty company reimburses me? Maybe try to do something with insurance (I have progressive with comprehensive)? Or am I okay waiting for Carvana, safety-wise? Has anybody dealt with this company before? Thanks, and my apologies for my “noobiness”.
