Cup holder is in the way! Anyone removed their cup holder to gain foot space?

why cloth doesnt have the cupholder armrest instead of this, is just greed. Im assuming those with leather get the flat bottom one, could be mistaken. My mothers JL with leather is flat like the image above. Still gets kicks though
I would rather have the floor cup holder, the middle seat has a kid in it so that cup holder would be useless. I don’t think it’s really greed but rather another way to differentiate trims.

It looks like that part is removable. Maybe try removing all together and dealing with the hole later. Some kydex or similar plastic could be moulded to fit the hole later.

This thread reminds me of when my 5-year-old daughter kicked off the dual folding cupholder "tray" on my 2000 Dodge single cab truck -- I just drove to AutoZone and bought 2 of those old-school door panel hanging plastic cupholders

Leather doesn't change it, still has cupholders there.

Ah, I just assumed, based of my mothers JL/Sahara, but guess I assumed wrong. She has leather, which has the fold down armrest/cup holder but nothing on the floor.

Depends on which leather you get in the JL. Mopar quilted vs factory standard. The mopar is actually factory install katskinz on a cloth based seat

This is a good project for someone with CAD and a 3D printer.

Jeep doesn’t put cup holders in the doors because the doors come off and then no cup holders. There’s a safety law issue with cup holders in a fold down middle seat/armrest that prohibit Jeep from doing that due to cost and issues with seats and being able to remove the roof.
