Woah that's a weak number? Maybe I've been calculating wrong or something. What's 7% off a 50k Rubi? Maybe I need to go back to math class:surprised:
Maybe you should, but you said it, not me.

3k off a 50k Rubi would be a little better than an invoice price (About invoice - .5% give or take), so considering there is affiliate pricing available for 1% below invoice with no haggling and no need for FCA financing or any other hoops, yes, I consider that weak.

That's again why I asked the question as to how the Rubi was built. Any less than 50k MSRP and maybe he's basically getting Affiliate pricing. Any more, and that makes your calculations even worse.

So can we come to an agreement that over 50k MSRP this is not a great deal? I didn't say to go to the dealership and light it on fire, I just said it was weak, which it very well could be.

I think he means 7% below invoice. You're calculating 7% below msrp which is probably closer to at, or 1-2 percent below invoice.

Okay stupid question but would the 7%off be 7%off invoice or 7%off MSRP. If it's off invoice wouldn't it be even more because it's already discounted being it's sold at invoice? I apologise for my stupidity (yes I'll admit I failed math once ) lol

$55,585 - I greatly appreciate the tip, just called my guy back to drill into this a bit more. I'd gladly take a ride to Tri-City to save that much coin. Gonna revisit the numbers with my guy to see if they can do any better. Thanks.
ok, so that's about .5% over invoice pricing. It's gonna be quite a price difference to just go through Travis (I calculated about 3k if Travis is at 5%. Little over 4k at 7%)

Ahh, now that's a good question. Depends on who's quoting it/converting it. I don't really have a good answer for you unless you have an example. The majority of people here quote off invoice. From what I see the majority of dealers quote off MSRP and usually as a round cash number (3k sounds better than a percentage)

yes this is what I'm getting confused from. So with my calculations being wrong that's a good thing and I could save even more money. So how would I go about calculating a Rubi around 50k with 7% under (invoice) not MSRP. What would invoice be on 45k Rubi that's before any add ons

Figure about $43,900 plus tax/title/and wonderful destination fees.

This should be your best friend. I played with this stupid worksheet every day until I ordered. The day I ordered, I printed it out, gave it to the dealer, said here's what I want and the deal that I want, and we pretty much wrapped up a fair deal within 10 minutes (And use the google docs version, tends to do better calculations but they're both awesome)

There's a thread floating around here with the order guides and prices. I can't find it, but you would have to start by knowing what invoice price is, then subtract your percentage from that. Generally invoice is about 5% below MSRP.

Try to get close to 5% below invoice. If not, go to Mall of Georgia Chrysler Jeep and talk to Mike Clinnin. Me and @spazzyfry123 ordered our rubicons there. He does no hassle 5% below invoice and an additional 1% for affiliate discount so total 6% below invoice. You don't have to finance with them either.

Yup! @Captn_Obvious Tell Mike that @Onebigyoshi sent you in and it's a done deal. No negotiating and no gimmicks. I just got off the phone with Mike and everything is set in stone with no surprises. Just left MY bank at a < 3% rate for 72 months, too.

Going through Mike has saved me about $7k assuming MSRP pricing, but I'm seeing the dealers around me going ABOVE MSRP in some instances. I'm looking at a potential $10k+ savings for driving a few hours.

Just waiting for it to get here now!

The OP also has a trade which is a factor along with finance. In the two months that i shopped i found a huge difference in what i was offered for my trade a gap of as much as 10k so everything has to be taken into account and not just getting below invoice. Good financing rates also which can amount to several thousands of dollars during the life of the loan.

If not necessary, I always recommend private party deals over trades. Very often that's where the highway robbery occurs.

Agreed. I had a truck to trade and couldn't get more than 32K for it. Turned around and sold it for 39K and placed my order!
