ok, I am confused. At what point did they stop delivering all gladiators with a hitch? When I got mine in 2020, the only option not to have a tow hitch was a special order. Even the base model sports all came with a tow hitch.

They all come with the tow wiring, which includes the plug in the bumper and connector for the trailer brake controller. The Class IV receiver mounted below the bumper is only included when the truck is ordered with a tow package.

Ah, ok then. There was no tow package on my window decal, but mine came from the factory with the receiver, so I didn't know that. Thanks.

My vote is just the Curt. These trucks have zero business towing large trailers regardless of the hitch. I just bought the Curt add on and I have a little over 5k miles towing, beat the living daylights out of it at Moab, and have been nothing but happy. The only thing I will say is if you don't have the ability to torque that big bolt as rated, just skip and do the full hitch.

I don't think it is nearly as big of a deal as it seems. Plus you still have the ability to hook the safety gear to the factory hitch under the bumper. Just get trailer brakes more than anything else. Makes a world of difference, even on my 2.500lb trailer. These are small, light trucks. When you cross that canyon wall and that 60mph side wind slams the truck and camper you will want that ability to stop, but also control the trailer if needed with a gentle pull on the brakes.

And then some future owner puts 6,000 pounds with 600 pound tongue weight and..........
I'd not use a WDH on the curt, Why limit yourself?
I pull 5,000 pounds fine - but I'd not do it with a Curt vs. the factory hitch.

So after reading the comments here and some more research I went ahead and ordered the OEM hitch. Got it installed today and overall really easy! For the extra 130 bucks I feel I got a better setup and probably easier than the Curt since I didn't have to deal with the higher torque specs on the hex bolt.
