I got the notification as well… talked to the service dept. and they told me it must be a mistake because mine has power locks.

I figured they were wrong but didn’t feel like arguing that day. I always use my power locks, and not key, so hoping I’m not at risk of failure in the mean time.?!?

Don't all the tailgates have the keyhole even if you have power locks? Mine does.

Perhaps the clip holding in the lock cylinder is different if you don't have power locks. I didn't get the TSB notice.

I wonder, the folks that got the notice, do you have power locks?

Dang, didn’t see this coming. Almost 4 years in and I’ve never even thought to use a key to unlock the tailgate. I just hit the button on my fob. Honestly never noticed that there is a keyhole there.

Just got off the phone with the service department, they also told me that if you have power locks that the recall was not applicable. However he said they will inspect it next oil change???

What is meant by inspection in the case of Gladiators that have electric locks is basically to close the recall (show that the vehicle has had the recall completed) on that particular vehicle. There are two different labor options on the recall, one for replacement of the control (locking mechanism) and the other for no repair needed because of the electric locks.

I have power locks and received the notice, service department still inspected it.

Already had to replace my lift handle latch mechanism a month or so ago, power locks.

I guess I don't understand because I've been into a powered and a manual tailgate and the mechs are the same with the exception of the power kicker that just rotates the cam the key does.
