I have a Magnuson super charger on my 2020 Overland, and for the last 25,000 miles it has been fine. I had the engine light go on the other day and took it to the nearest Jeep dealer, because I am out of state and not near my regular mechanic. The dealer says it is a Cylinder Six misfire and they have to remove the supercharger to check the plugs etc. 1) Would anyone here trust a dealership service mechanic to play with a supercharger?

i don't trust dealership mechanics to change my oil.

My most memorable service experience from working at a dealership was this tech we had who was EXTREMELY literal (spectrum suspected). He was working on a customer's car for a pad and rotor R&R and the service manager was yelling at him to "get that customer's car down NOW!" so he did. Now what the service manager clearly meant was "work faster" but what the guy heard was "get the car down now". He had only put one lugnut on the wheel at this point, and obviously hadn't torqued it. To him "now" meant "this second" and didn't bother to put the other 4 on because his boss said now. Customer made it out of the dealership lot... by about 20 feet. Brand new rotor was cracked, customer was PISSED. Original work was comped, fix for their fuckup was obviously free, dealer would have just made the first guy fix his fuck up and not get paid, but the customer said "if that same idiot touches my car again there will be a lawsuit" so they had to pay a different tech to complete the work, and obviously that customer never came back (and almost certainly told all their friends and family).

I'm not saying every dealer tech is a moron... i've worked with some very good guys. But the bad outweigh the good and the "how are you still employed?" outweigh the great.

I think in most dealerships these days you have a “few good men “ and the rest are warm bodies! Unfortunately the few good men often hold supervisory positions and rarely do the work on cars. Just my experience- “ Im only a mechanic “ 👍😂

I wouldn’t trust anyone except a shop or individual who does that sort of work routinely. Not because dealership service departments are bad, but you have a specialty part. Maybe if you could get it to a dealership that works on SRT vehicles too and have a tech certified there to do the work. Otherwise, maybe a tuner shop?

Where you able to find out what the issue was? I also got P0306 code for cylinder 6 misfire. Wondering if it could be the tune?
