So, let me start by saying that I understand that times are tough, that everyone is going through things differently, & that I realize we need to be a little bit more understanding....

Now that that's out of the way & since this is an open forum, I wanted to reach out to the community to address something that I've noticed & see if anyone has any similar experiences. On 12/14/20, I placed my original order for the Fab Fours Stubby Bumper (part #JL18-B4752-1) from Morris4x4 (found their link directly through the Fab Fours website) which was delivered & left at my doorstep on 12/21/20 via FedEx Home Delivery (no signature required). The below pictures are how the original order was delivered:

Obviously, I wasn't pleased & instantly reached out to Morris4x4 to remedy the issue. Apparently, the item should've been sent via LTL Freight, but wasn't. Also, the packaging was apparently "high quality" via Fab Fours Support Team once I reached out to notify them of how their items are being handled by those they trust to market/distribute. I guess a simple black felt fabric and cardboard box are enough to protect a steel bumper. No packing peanuts, no condensed foam, no bubble wrap. Nothing. After going back & forth with Morris4x4 & waiting another month for delivery of the replacement, I finally received the 2nd bumper this afternoon via LTL Freight. The pictures are listed below:

As you can see...better exterior packaging, but the interior had a similar result. Due to bare metal being exposed on the 2nd bumper, I refused the delivery & didn't sign the delivery receipt. If I mount it, it'll rust in no time. Plus, I feel that I shouldn't have to fix anyone else's issues, so I don't want to simply patch it or send it to a shop to powder coat over the exposure. I just simply want the item I ordered...undamaged. Again, reached out to Morris4x4 to remedy the issue. They apologized yet again & asked if I wanted a refund or replacement.

Giving them one last chance, but wondering if this is a lost cause. I fear that the 2nd bumper issue might've been a factory QA mishap by Morris4x4 vs shipping issue, but it's not my call. Like I said above, I know that things happen & I try to be a forgiving guy, but this is insane. Has anyone else had an issue with bumpers or with Morris4x4? This is my first time ordering from them & it's not leaving me with a great impression....

That's pretty weak packing, and I agree you should get to skin it up in use.

I think I'd just go another way before I tried again.

They should order something from Ace Engineering to see how it should be done.

We had the same thing happen when my wife lady ordered a piano from a big box music store. The 1st one was beat to pieces. the hood or what ever you call the thing that covers the keys would not even open so we sent that one back. The next one came and had some small Knicks in it. I was able to talk them into taking $300 off of it. Got out the black marker and covered the Knicks up.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do?

I doubt anything that heavy can be shipped without some minor damage, I would just touch it up, highly doubt it is real powder coating, it would not chip off that easily.
Bull.

When a heavy item is packaged with the same material as a light or moderate item, the shipper doesn't care and isn't trying.

Damage shouldn’t be there but your making it out to be worse then it is. A can of rattle paint and those will be gone and you will never know. Besides that’s armor it’s meant to take damage unless you just want it for looks.

Disagree: he didn't pay for a used item. New = new. IMO.

You’re missing the point. I didn’t pay for a damaged item nor should I ever have to fix something that wasn’t done by myself. Especially since I paid over $500 for it. I understand that I will damage it on the trails. If done that way, I will deal with it in the manner you suggested. But not for an unused item.

Correct. If you have to refurbish it You need to charge for that. The 1st bumper would of been 80% off. The second 45% or so or it also goes back.

Tbh- I’ve spent thousands on fab fours stuff and have yet to get something that doesn’t have a little scuff or powder coat missing. Yeah it’s kind of annoying but I touched it up with a granite crystal touch up pen and moved on. Can’t even tell. No rust on any of it in those places over a year later.
The best packaging I’ve got from them was the overland rack. It came on a 6’ foot pallet. Minimal rubbing on inside but a couple places to touch up.
Had to meet the 18 wheeler and we slide it out onto the bed. Huge box.
Fab fours is still nicer and higher quality than these cheapo imported stuff in my opinion. Scratches or no scratches. Hope your replacement comes in better shape though.
NFab stuff I’ve purchased came like your first box. Every time. Had huge dents in the step rails and tube bumpers.

Just saw the over 500$ part. Didn’t realize they had gone up that much. I got mine at 349 when they came out. Dang !

Your missing the point. A few scrapes is not a big deal. Use a rattle can and it’s new. You are getting a new never used bumper. Ask for a large discount and be done with it.

The shippers don't care and are not trying, something that heavy cannot be easily handled by one person, shipping companies generally only have the driver so it is going to dropped off the truck and pushed around, that is why I made the comment about it not be possible to be packaged in a way that it would not be damaged.
