So I have had both batteries replaced within the last two months. It has been running fine and I drive it five days a week, at least. I last drove it friday and this morning, it was completely dead. No lights, the key fob would not work, nothing. I even tried to use a jumper and the dome light would flicker, and that's it. Anyone have any suggestions as to what a problem could be? I just left it in the driveway and rode my harley to work until I can look at. Thanks

A better idea would have been to toss a trickle charger on it and then get on the Harley. You can put a charger on it when you get home and try your luck in the morning.

Until you give more info as far as voltages, I would guess you have a loose connection from the battery replacement.

Go back and check.

Got home and put it on the charger. Didn't have time this morning unfortunately. It's reading 11.88 after 2 hrs of charging. Did crank just now but very weak. Not sure which battery is the culprit. Will leave on charge and continue to monitor it. Appears these 2 month old batteries are crap.

You will need to check those connections! Ideally, you should pull the ground and aux negative from the main negative isolating them. Charge the aux until full and then charge the main until full. Pull the IBS connector off. Reconnect your negative cables, main ground being the last one. Reconnect the IBS. Wait a few drive cycles for your display icons to return.

While you have the batteries isolated, that would be a good time to test with a volt meter. Not a good battery test, but it might show you something. You would want to read the voltage maybe 20 minutes after you fully charge them.

Ok thanks. Appreciate the help.

You need to check all fuses, z fuse array, canbus star connector, and (physically not visually) check all related connections. You have to rule out the easiest things to check. Been there, done that. And one of those could easily be the culprit.

That's way above my pay grade. 😀
I did let it charge for 14 hours and the voltage increased enough to start the truck this morning but the head unit was black. Could not get it to come on. It has been dropped off at the dealership and they are working on. I mentioned all of your suggestions and they said they would check those as well. Appreciate the input.

When the batteries were replaced was both of them fully charged and equalized? Second was it disconnected long enough for a reset of vehicles systems? Corrosion of hidden connectors is possible and the JT, JL, JLU are never totally shutdown as most know. In part why I installed a solar system. Yes some batteries are s### even new, the "new" ESS battery I got last year went into ESS not available in about 6 months after installed.
FYI when I went through the battery problem it fried the fuse bar, it's setup with a open one to use when that happens. .. kindly like the designers know it's going to happen.

Nah. Checking them are not as hard as you think. I know you already dropped it off at the dealership. So this is for next time. Sometimes it something easy and simple and sometimes it's complicated and major. But...... It may save you a little headache.

Great info. Not sure how charged they were from the dealer. Hope to know more soon.

Just an update. The dealer still has the truck. At this time, they don't know the cause if the issues. Gave me a vehicle to drive until they can figure things out. I gave them all of the suggestions that were mentioned to me here and he made a note of those for the techs to test. Hopefully I will get some news tomorrow but I am not holding my breath.

You have to update when you get the jeep back. It might be a new or particular issue that we all need to keep in our notes.

So here's the update. I finally got the truck back from the dealer today after being there for 9 days. It took them a couple of days to get to the bottom of the issue. Apparently, the head unit was not going to sleep like it's supposed to. Even though the screen was black, it was powering up and drawing all of the juice out of the batteries. They ordered a new Uconnect which took 6 days to arrive. They tested everything and they believe this will solve the problem. I guess time will tell. Everything worked as it should on the drive home. I just had to link my phone up to the unit and check all of the settings. May have missed a few but I'll sort that out over time.
