Dealership tracker?

I know this has been talked about but I was just wanting confirmation that this is what I’m looking at. If anyone knows what this is tied into my obdII port please educate me and also do you see any reason why I should leave it hooked up?

It looks to be this: http://www.swds.net/swat-gps-vehicle-tracking

It may have been put in for fleet tracking prior to sale and just deactivated or it might be required by your finance company.

It doesn’t say “Mopar” anywhere on it. My JTR was a demo vehicle and my guess is that the dealership installed it in case it was stolen while on a test drive or off the lot. I just don’t know why they wouldn’t take it out and use on another car after I bought it. Which makes me wonder if they are using it still to track the vehicle. I might call them and ask. I had to drive a good distance to get it. I was going to pull the fuse and the ground wire on it but not sure if it would mess anything up seeing as how they spliced into a wire on the back of my OBDII port.

Pushed in behind my OBDII port with a zip tie.

My Overland has one of those in it. The Dealer also included a sheet in the paperwork bundle with instructions on how to setup an account to access it. It is a GPS tracker that communicates through the cellular network. The account is prepaid for three years. It also has geofencing and speed tracking features.

Mine had one installed and was on the addendum sticker. I removed the one from mine as I subscribe to the guardian service and don’t need two devices tracking my truck.
