Sadly the death wobble appeared this weekend, 2020 JT 20k miles, bone stock, hit bumps on the highway, 38 degrees out and now it is a sloppy mess, every bump I hit at 70+ the wobble starts. very frustrating. Of course out of warranty and all the dealer cares about is to charge to do an assessment and charge for whatever parts they think it needs. Am thinking of putting a steering stabilizer to get me thought the winter and deal with it in the spring.

Opinions on brand of steering stabilizer? or other options?

Was thinking FOX 2.0 PERFORMANCE SERIES IFP STEERING STABILIZER

NOTE: "Band Aid", I am driving long distances each weekend until spring, need a "band aid" hence this post. If there are others who have had the steering stabilizer dampen the DW as a temporary fix I am ok with that.

Excellent choice! Get the kit to flip the mounting and as a bonus it moves to the top of the tie rod out of harm's way. If you install it as the instructions say, you will most likely develop a pull to the right.

Honestly just fix the problem. It might be as simple as a loose bolt or a tie rod; your Jeep if stock should be a simple fix. All a bigger aftermarket stabilizer might do is mask the problem a little longer, and will cost more than fixing the problem. But even that isn't guaranteed if you don't know what's wrong. There are tons of helpful people here with much better ideas that I'm sure can help you.

agree, which is why get me to spring until I can work on it, current 32 degrees outside.

Yes obviously check everything and fix what you find, buut the honest truth is that most Jeeps I check out are sano, yet have DW. In that case I toss on the monotube stablizer.........problem solved!

Was it truly death wobble or a bad shimmy? I was fighting this for a few months on my JLU. Started after swapping a bashed stock stabilizer with a Rough Country cheapy. And only in one spot of road. Finally a buddy gave me his stock one with 80k on it and the shimmy was gone.

Not a full DW as I have had on my previous jeep, but close, only difference is I only have to slow down to less then 40 to get it to stop vs having to go much slower on the previous jeep.

Can you accelerate through it? If so could be a balance issue. Have had that before, actually my TJ a few months back when I did a rotation. Front end shook like complete DW, a rebalance and all was good.

You are happy to install a new steering stabilizer in those same temps? It's going to be 50f this week there? That's shorts weather for me! I'm assuming you are in NJ based on your profile. If wrong I apologize.

Bottom line, your Jeep shouldn't need an aftermarket stabilizer to make it right unless you want it to. But, we all understand that too!!

People Work?
Falcon adjustable works great for me.
Ditto on checking all torques, steering gearbox bolts, ball joints, tire balance, looking for slop in steering components.
