Decal order taking forever - Should I be frustrated?

So I ordered decals from a well know decal vendor on 3-5-22. There website says "Current lead time 2-4 weeks". I emailed on 4-12-22 asking for a status update, that email reply said "This is part of a large group I am working on presently. Shipping shortly, apoligies for the delay." Well its now May 1st, amost 3 weeks from that email and 2 months from the original order. At this point I'm getting a little frustrated, I feel like if you are that far out just be honest about it don't say "shipping shortly" if you are still weeks away. If their site said 2-3 month lead time, I can decide if I want to wait that long or order from somewhere else..

For me, I guess it would come down to what was ordered. Was price great, or item unique to this vendor only? Are there any negative review about quality or failure to deliver? I would probably be frustrated too, and more communication could have been better. If they are a small business, they could be facing a whole litany of issues do to supply or cost increases that made them switch vendors, etc. Without more details, it's hard for me to day how frustrated I would be, but I would have liked to get a communication of the delay without me having to ask for it if they had established time frames.

I'm pretty sure I ordered from the same vendor a few months back and this was my experience as well...

it was annoying, but it did eventually show up and they are very well made.

it would have been nice if they told you up front that they batch process these things, instead of letting you think they forgot about your order.

His stuff is great and worth the wait. I have had mine on for a while in harsh sun and still no fading.

Although frustrating as is all orders out in cyberspace today, I will tell you that this product is worth the wait...

At least you’re getting something. I got ghosted after the second request two weeks after being told I’d have something to look at in a week. No response again the third try after a month. I went elsewhere had design in 2 days and installed the next week. Completely satisfied now!

He’s decals are the best and worth the wait but I agree he should change the wait time to 4-6 weeks which the last few orders I have done have taken which is cool cause I learned after my 1st order

Don’t be frustrated. His work is exceptional and well worth waiting on.

It’s fluff… I get it, but that’s not the point. If you order and pre-pay for anything and are given timelines there is an expectation of customer service. I’m not mad and I agree with the other contributors that his stuff it worth the wait. I’ve ordered from him for my last two Jeeps and I’m sure I’ll order again in the future. I’m the kind of person that if you tell me it’s going to be a week or a month or six months that’s fine. Just shoot me straight.
