Hi all,
Recently I started getting the squeaking noise when pulling out of parking spots or drive ways that goes away shortly after. I have seen several post on this but was wondering if a confirmed cause was ever found as there seemed to be a few possibles listed. Sounds rotational and like a break squeler but again sound goes away after a few mins of driving. Notice it mostly when turning and it’s annoying but with out it being consistent I worry about taking it to the dealer with out more information as it does not do it unless it sits for awhile (Few Hours).

thanks!

Do you use your parking brake? Some have had success phasing that out. I personally use it out of habit from driving stick, stopped using it, squeak went away

I very rarely use it when I visit my parents due to a really step drive way but that’s normal months apart other than that I don’t. I have wondered if the brakes weren’t all the way but ruled it out as the issue occurs randomly.

Almost sounds like flash rust on the rotors since you mention it only happens after it sits a bit.

Oh I should have been more specific. I meant hours like the time from gettin to work and leaving for lunch. If I am in and out of somewhere it might do it on the first trip but not the second and so on. It also does not do it everyday trying to nail down a pattern there.

I managed to get some audio for the squeak I also think it is only happening when during turns it seems to follow steering. Again goes away pretty fast this audio was from my parking spot to the main road.

lol., I have had that squeak since new... Now at 65K miles. Playing with the emergency brake usually makes it go away. I think it is coming from the drivers side rear.... I made a bunch of posts about it through the years....

Had similar issue, took to local shop and they said brakes look fine just dirty. Cleaned them up and it went away for a short period. Just lived with it. Then, recently had my brakes inspected again, they said they were fine, but I had them do new rotors, etc. Squeak has been eliminated thus far.

Edit: passenger rear was where the squeak was coming from therefore, had the rears replaced.

Thanks everyone for the replies mine seems to be rear passenger as well but it’s hard to define exactly due to hearing issues.
