Did you know Aux wires are inside also ? Not just by the battery.

I was getting ready to mount led lights inside the cab ( the middle cluster of lights is a joke if you are looking for something at night) and was going to run the wires to the Orange wire by the battery. Happen to look at wrangler forum and found a thread on the Aux wires being inside for adding items in the cab.
Looked in front of the footwell and found them (look exactly like the ones by the battery) taped to another cable.
The only issue is the limited ground locations. Found a post close by that was good so I tied it into that.
Now my #3 switch is active and the cab is like daytime.

Yep, under the glove box. Glad you found them. Nice option.

Not only are there four wires for the aux switches, but most installs of that option have two additional wires, an orange/pink stripe for ignition switched current, and a red/white stripe for direct battery connection.

I knew I had them, but it is good to see a photo showing exactly where they are.

Thanks for the post. I looked and looked in the kick panel area and could not find them. Finally gave up and ran my amp signal
wire off my 12v power port.

The manual is why I looked in the kickpanel area. I did not see anything below the glovebox, but my guess is I did not look hard enough beyond the footwell light glare. Not a biggie, now I have 2 aux circuits still free. Curious though if that ignition circuit caries more amperage that my phone charger can utilize.

I can't believe people spend $40-60k on something and don't bother reading the manual. I'm on my second reading, it's like porn but better.
You can even download the PDF version of the manual and let Siri read you it out loud in the voice, accent, sex and speed of you choice!!!

It's a good thing I have adaptive cruise, because listening to my manual in a nice hot Spaniard voice might cause me to crash. The problem I've found though is that the voice doesn't skip the useless trash warnings which make up more than half the manual.

Now if I could download the voice of the lead narrator of "Money Heist," that would be worth it.

Yeah, they are taped up to the wire harness and the black tape all blends together in the dark! To your amperage question, why yes it does.

Your phone charger uses a maximum of 3a at 5v (15 watts), and the power supply is 10a at 12v (120 watts). This converts to your phone charger using only 0.8 amps at 12v.

Thanks for your response. I did not think about the USB spec. I was just contemplating my wireless fast charger. but at the end of the day I guess it needs to conform to what it is plugged into. I am positive I am getting .8 Amps from the aux power port splice.
