The worst part of a truck cap is that it warrants the rearview mirror nearly worthless. Especially if you have a hardtop with a rear sliding window and a cap with a front sliding window. I haven't seen many product reviews for the Gladiator, so I am sharing my experience.
I purchased a Wolfbox G900 rearview mirror with a 4k front cam and 2.5k rear camera. It's a touchscreen and allows you to adjust brightness and vertical FOV with a few quick gestures.
I bought this mirror mount adapter.
This installation is straightforward, I ran the power and camera feed through the firewall in the passenger foot well. Then the camera feeds along the frame and into the bed through one of the factory holes. I currently have the camera magnetically mounted to my Smartcap until I finalize the mounting location. I installed the wiring so there is a connection between the top and bed for easy top removal.
The only downsides are that the mirror is 12" wide and interferes with dropping the visors, and the mirror sits lower than I'd like. I will design and make a custom mount to rectify the mounting location, which should fix the visor issue.
I'd prefer to have a traditional rearview mirror with an unobstructed view but this is far better than sighting through all the glass frames of the top and cap.
