I am considering the @Diode Dynamics SS3 in yellow.
I have a '22 JTR with factory LED lights.

Will the Max still be plug and play with their higher current draws?
I don't know if the Diode Dynamic specs are for a single or pair of lights.
Main Beam Current (amps @ 12.8V): Sport: 1.1, Pro: 2.7, Max: 3
@smokeythecat posted his OEM fogs are pulling 1.7amps at 13.7 volts per single light.

Is the $630 Max worth the extra $200 over the Pro?
Anyone get the Pro and wish they had the Max or has anyone installed the Max and thought they were too bright for on road use.
I do live in a suburban area.

Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

I went with pro. They are so bright and the beam pattern is so good, I have never wished I had bought the max. I can’t imagine needing more than the pro.

I have the Max in yellow. With the wide lens there is a sharp cutoff and it doesn’t blind traffic, I always drive with them on if it’s dark.
I don’t usually have a problem with the current draw, although I have noticed a couple times when one will turn off, then come back on (usually at a light or parked).

Hey there!

We're just chiming in to state the SS3 Pro beam pattern is taller for more coverage.

Due to the taller pattern, you do have to aim them down a bit more to ensure legal on-road coverage.

Many users prefer the SS3 Max as the beam pattern is focused and the intensity is far higher than the SS3 Pro.

Thank you everyone for your input.
I decided on the Yellow Max and placed my order this morning.

The deciding factor for me was that the yellow max and white max use the same LEDs, so if I wanted to change to white, all I have to do is swap lenses. At least that is my understanding.
Hopefully @Diode Dynamics can confirm.

Awesome choice going with our SS3 Max in yellow!

Yes, this statement is correct. The SS3 Max uses 6000K cool white Osram Boost-HX emitters behind the lens of the yellow and white/clear TIR optic.

Here is my vehicle with SS3 Max LED pods. I tend to switch to yellow in winter and white in the warmer months.

More importantly, @Diode Dynamics , when is the next sale? ?
Unfortunately, we're running fewer sale periods this year and more discount promotions on select products.

Keep an eye out for select product promotions and remember you can always direct message us for a free US shipping code.

Installed the lights. Pretty simple install overall.
Of course I installed them the morning after switching the clocks for daylight savings.
I think it may be a while before I actually get to use them.

I will say I am impressed with the amount of light they put out in full sun.
