Difference is that you can buy tires at all sorts of stores - from independent dealers to walmart, firestone stores, muffler and tire shops of all sorts. You still have dozens of choices.If this is like the cell phone companies mergers that they tried for years to do, the government can stop it if it makes competition go away.
You can even buy tires via amazon..........
Apples and oranges. This does little to slow the common person from getting tires of their choice. It will likely impact discount tire buyers - those who mostly shop online.
The biggest impact will be Jeep people who do tons of shopping around to get bottom dollar online.
Heck, I got the same price from my JEEP dealer that Discount Tire and others had! Same tires, same price, a bit cheaper installed.
So this won't impact me one bit.
Not when the Jeep and Chevy dealers here match these two companies!
