This is a game changer for me. I have been wanting to build this for a while now. I’m just getting in to overlanding and right now I have a bed tent. I wanted a way to bring my bike but have a very easy way to remove the rack when I want to set up my tent. This rack only requires 2 bolts to remove it and I can easily setup my tent. It’s super sturdy. I spent about $130 total between the parts and the DIY trail rail system that I built.

Quite an ingenious build. Nothing beats simplicity of design and use when it comes to the things that we use often. Very impressive!

Thanks! Still have to powder coat it to match my trail rail but it works well.

Is that a through-axle or quick-release front fork? And if it's a quick-release, what brand is the fork mount you've got?

It’s a quick release and my Trek has the Suntour fork.

I added 1 simple modification. This is easier and I don’t have to carry a specific socket and ratchet to remove it when necessary.

On my last truck I used two of these and just bolted them to the top of the bed, letting the rear of the bike sit down in the bed. That way nothing stuck up above the roof line and I could drive into the garage. Cost me almost 40 dollars for two mounts. The bikes never moved around in the bed at all.

had these on my tacoma, worked just fine but you do lose bed space vs mounting them high

True, but on my centuries I never had anything in the bed anyways. If me and the Mrs wanted to go to the beach and ride I could easily fit all our stuff in the back seat, and ice chest would fit between the two bikes.

@Jobofly have a link for the rear tire strap?
I have the front fork adapter that was posted by @Camaroboi13 but the rear tire strap they sell had reviews that said the velcro sucked.
I'm trying to do this but up on my bed rack with some extra work.
