I’ve been looking at shocks I have fox 2.0’s on a 2.5“ rubicon express lift and they are a little soft. I’ve been thinking of going with Bilstein 5160’s or maybe the Dobinson‘s. I had Dobinson on my Tacoma and it rode good just wondering if anyone in here has run them. I believe they are a little firmer than the fox and a much larger body 2.6“ with a 60mm piston vs the fox and Bilstein I are 2” bodies. If anyone has any feed back that would be much appreciated. Thanks

I havent had either on the Jeep but had the 5160s on a Tacoma. They were stiff.

Both are monotube, the Billys are digressive and the Dobinsons are progressive. So the Billys would likely be stiffer in everyday use.

The body size kinda gets skewed with the addition of the reservoir on the Billys. Despite a smaller shock body the reservoir might make up for that.

The OE 2.0 Fox's arent really representative of how good Fox shocks can be, and theyre not too hard to improve upon.

Not sure on the IMS but I believe the entry level Dobinsons were steel body shocks. Just something to consider. Even though theyre rebuildable, rust might be a concern in the long run. Although, aluminum can oxidize as well.

The Teraflex Falcons are really popular and the adjustments would help dial in the ride to your liking a bit more.

Good luck.

Some friends of mine at Commonweatlh 4x4 in KY have installed them on a few Gladiator builds now with Alu-Cab Canopy Campers and they seem to be doing very well.
