Hello all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Long story short, I'm looking at buying either a JL wrangler or JT gladiator.

There is a used Gladiator, for a pretty good price (almost regret sharing it), currently for sale at the original dealership it was purchased at (Gary Mathews in Claksville, TN) Link below:

https://www.garymathewsmotors.com/used/Jeep/2020-Jeep-Gladiator-e25265a10a0e0a6b16f796bf1b3a6772.htm

With it being a few hours away, I can't readily test drive it. I'm hoping that I get real lucky and a forum member owned it and can comment on it. Currently it has approx 3,500 miles, and at approx 2,500 miles the car fax shows they aligned it and checked the steering. There are some steering issues reported on both the JL/JT and I'm not trying to open up that can of worms, I don't want to buy one with an issue nor do I want to drive that far to find out myself.

If you know anything about this Glad please let me know or if I should have posted this in a different place.

Thanks,

Future Gladiator Owner.

Sean, can’t help you on this specific JT, but have you considered asking someone with some experience to go check it out for you? I think it is worth the nominal fee you would pay for the peace of mind and there are people on this site that live in the area with enough experience they could give you some great insight/advice.

Just a thought.

That doesn’t seem like a fantastic price for a used truck.
I would ask to see the Mulroney Label so you can see the original MSRP and expect to take at least 15% off that if not more...

Right now, I think you can get a brand new sport for that same price. At least in Virginia they have had some killer deals. The place I got mine in early April has Sport S models before tax about $35K.

Taking a guess here but with that low miles on it it was probably a demonstrator used by the dealership.

Thanks everyone. I knew it was a long shot, but the tailgate lettering and some of the other mods I didn’t know if the owner was here or not.

This gladiator has a sticker of 45k, and selling it for 34k or about 23% off. I really want a max tow, and the 7 inch uconnect.

The dealership claims it was owed by a local that buys a lot of jeeps and owns an off road shop in town. I’m going to give that a google.

But that doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzys

That dealership is in Clarksville TN which is the local town to the Army Base Ft. Campbell, KY. Not uncommon for young GI's to get in over their head on a new vehicle purchase and then have to get rid of it a few months later.

alright everybody, I pulled the trigger on this. Hopefully it works out well for me and I'm glad to be part of the community.

thanks
That is a great deal for a Max Tow used Sport S. From my research here in the DC area, you probably saved yourself about $4-5k versus buying a similar new one.

Thanks,

the sticker was posted at 45k, getting it for 34k is around 25% off. Plus with the low miles Navy Fed treats it as a new car, so I got a great rate.

You can buy a new one for close to that price. Go new. The deals they are giving right now are insane! Just read the follow up. You bought it. Its not a bad deal. Congrats on your purchse.
