Not that I've ever crawled anything bigger than the curb at Starbucks,
it seems to me that the most vulnerable part of the Gladiator
is the extended rear end and poor departure angle
that invites hanging up and damage.

Does anyone make a rear skid plate
that starts behind the rear axle,
covers the spare tire,
and is flush with the underside of the rear bumper
and protects the hitch receiver ?

The Northridge completely flush underside
looks impressive but stops in front of the rear axle.

I haven't seen a commercially available one, but my buddy had one bent up by a local shop. It's just a round sheet of steel with some ears bend upward to keep it on the tire (37" in the factory location). It's held to the tire with some cables and a lock. I've seen it in action - helps the rear end slide easier for sure. His factory Rubi bed rails and steel bumper do the rest. It's not as large or elaborate as you described though.
