This is what I bought it for and what I use it for. Just a plus that the doors and top come off and it's pretty solid if I do want to hit up a trail. Couldn't do this stuff in my old JKU, miss it but love this JT for what you can do with it.

Could be a county ordinance, but Rockingham County will charge an additional $10 fee for any vehicle entering the landfill with an uncovered/unsecured load.
Not around here but your right, some places do. I go there pretty frequently and secure stuff that might come out. I'll be under 45 or under the 4 miles there.

I've done 'truck stuff' with my Jeep. No photos but, I did bring home like 6 sections of 6' tall by 6' wide stockade fencing...they were damned heavy but, laid right across the bed nicely and were easily strapped down. They replaced a section of my pool fencing that had gone bad and added nice privacy from the neighbor's yard. Wife likes to lay out nekkid so ???:clap::clap:

I also brought home like 8 old pallets that I put together to make a composting heap. Again, they fit nicely in the bed and were easily strapped down.

Also, I've brought home some taller stuff like a Troy Built wood chipper from the big orange box store, still in it's box, and other assorted items that can't fit in the back of an SUV (like my Grand Cherokee Ltd.).

Even though they have a short bed, our Gladiators are still very capable pick-em-up trucks.

EDIT...oh yeah, forgot around 2,500 sq. ft. of 3 1/2" x 3/4" red oak hardwood flooring. First trip with about 1,800 lbs of it in the bed then the rest about a year later in two trips with the bed filled the same and a 5'x10' trailer also loaded.

Yup, I have not even had mine 3 weeks yet.........several runs to the recycle center/dump, filled the bed with flooring & other home improvement materials and most important........hauling my wheels and 37s to get mounted.

So fuckin nice having a legit truck again
