This past weekend we went to Hidden Falls Adventure park out of Austin and put the Gladiator through its paces. We had a great time and even earned a badge. We did two runs, one in the early afternoon and one in the evening. For the second run we took the doors off and locked them up near camp. the next day we buttoned everything up and I drove back to Houston. On Monday, I noticed that I couldn't automatically unlock my doors from the driver door lock switch. I can still use the key fob and of course manually locking and unlocking work just fine, but the switch no longer locks or unlocks on the driver side. I have yet to try the one on the passenger side. On top of this, the passenger mirror constantly thinks there is a car in my blind spot. I cant help but feel that these two things are related somehow. yes the mirrors and rear taillight were caked in mud but I washed them off completely.

Any advice on where to start trouble shooting? I already checked the connection in the driver door. Ill take a look at the one on the passenger door next.

Attached is a picture of a mirror for your viewing enjoyment. if you like I can also attach a picture of my door lock :)

Passenger door pin is most likely bent. I still cant unlock doors from passenger interior, and have intermittent loss of blind spot monitoring. I have a pin that is shoved totally inside the connector and broken.

Yep gonna be a bent or broken pin in the door connector, if you search, there are plenty of threads.

Based on symptoms I think it’s most likely a bent door pin. Did you have your doors off this weekend?

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I guess I'll check the pins then.

If I can't fix them or bend them back, are the connections covered by warranty?

Some have said their dealers took care of it.

Mine didn't. And wanted to charge a fortune to fix it.

you should be able to bend back. If you cant and dealer wont fix, go to a different one if you can. DONT tell them you ever took the doors off....they will say its your fault.

Remember that a bent pin on either door can cause the symptoms.

As a last/worst case. You can get the exact connector online and it can be taken apart. No need to replace the whole harness.

For future reference, do not push the connectors together by hand. Align the connectors by hand until there is a light "click", then let the lever perform the mating operation. If the lever doesn't move, the alignment of the connectors is not correct. I sometimes need to give the door connector a slight wiggle to get the lever to release.

If this ever happens to me, I'll swap out for an Amphenol type connector. (like what military uses)
