So…. I was out and about today and noticed something odd…and probably not good in the long run.

The husband had put a bottle of water in the side door basket thing. Nothing different than we’ve done before.
Getting gas today and I noticed the door wouldn’t fully close. I didn’t originally suspect the water bottle, because we’ve had bottles there beofre without any issues. So….I’m looking at the door and notice the wire loom had was bending inwards toward the door jam and ultimately getting pinched in the door jam. Took the water bottle out…and that didn’t change anything.
Fiddle with the wire loom to get it to ‘bend’ in the opposite direction….. which wasn’t as easy as I thought.
The hubby got inside and shut the door and tried to pull the wire loom out from the inside…. Nope..it’s definitely pinched in there.
See photos…
Has anyone experienced this? I’m still under warranty and not sure its worth reporting it…but then again…???
The hubby wrapped it with a electrical wire loom just to stiffen it up, so it won’t bend inward.

But….I’d hate to discover (next summer) that something is damaged.
Thoughts?

Had it happen on my 2025 JT once. Just massaged it back out so it would service loop bend towards the inside of the cabin.

I doubt anything long term was damaged. Wires tend to break over time with repeated stress cycles and not so much one off situations.

At this point, there is also really nothing actionable for taking it in for warranty concerns either IMHO.

Maybe you had it twisted when you put doors back on and reattached harness. That would cause it to "bend" awkwardly since the wires want to twist back to their normal state.
Like winding an extension cord, gets all goofy if you don't wind it in the wires natural direction

It’s been 5 months since we last had the doors off….. I hope it hasn’t been doing it for that long. 😳. Probably worth disconnecting the harness and fiddling with the twist and re-connect.

Yup…all too familiar with that twist…. getting boat lines (rope) in neat spools requires proper pre-twist.
