Rear doors not unlocking with door handle pull from inside

As the title states, my daughter in the rear seat cannot open her door by pulling her handle. She has to unlock it manually by rotating the lock lever to open then pull the handle.

The child safety lock is not on.

And the key fob does lock and unlock all doors

But she can't just pull the door handle from the inside. Please don't tell me it's a double pull like the BMW system....

I would guess it is a safety feature to keep the door from being accidentally opened. The child safety lock prevents the door from opening using the inside handle. This requires a purposeful effort to open the door.

Mine’s the same.
If I don’t unlock all the doors, a back seat passenger needs unlock the door manually before it’ll open.

That lever is not easy to flip... I keep thinking she'll take off the fake chrome finish with her nails.
